Glen L. Payton, 64 of West Portsmouth died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born Sept. 27, 1944 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Ernest and Kathryn Skaggs Payton. Glen attended 7th Street Christian Baptist Church and the Adult Day Care Center. He is survived by a brother, Raymond Payton of South Carolina and a nephew, Neice and great neices whom he lived with, Steve and Kimberly Galloway and Brittany, Miranda and Melissa all of West Portsmouth. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Rufus, Jim and Lowell Payton; 2 sisters, Thelma Fisher and Irene Bowman and 2 infant sisters.Services will be 1:00 PM Sat., Sept. 26, 2009 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Kenneth Carver, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Scioto Burial Park. Visitation will be Friday 6 to 8 PM and Sat 12 to 1 PM at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
