Grover Cleveland McGuire

Age 60, of Sciotoville, passed away in Sciotoville on Thursday, November 7, 2013. He was born on November 2, 1953 in Portsmouth to Pearl and Ora (Parker) McGuire. He worked as a sandblaster and spraypainter and was a member of the Moose, Eagles, and painter's union local 555. He was a member of House of Praise in Lucasville, and a former member of House of Prayer in Highland Bend and North Moreland Lighthouse in New Boston. His favorite pass-time was to go fishing.

Grover is survived by four sons, Micah McGuire of Sciotoville, Aaron McGuire of Sciotoville, Robbie Robson (Tara) of McDermott, Randy Justice of South Shore, KY; two daughters, Kari Emmons (Chris) of Lucasville, Robin Cottrill of Chillicothe; three brothers, Melvin McGuire of Sciotoville, David (Tammy) McGuire of Lucasville, and Daniel (Julia) McGuire of Minford; six sisters, Brenda Johnson of Ocala, FL, Lulabell Prye of Ocala, FL, Kathy Pace (John) of Ocala, FL, Debra Bolling (Lore) of Sciotoville, Sondra Adams of Portsmouth, Rachel Fitzgerald of Minford; twenty-one grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Harvey, Ezekiel, Zach, Samuel, James, Wilfred, and Joseph.

Funeral services will be on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of High Praises in New Boston with Pastor Sam Salyer officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. Interment will follow at the McGuire Family Cemetery in Pritchard, WV.
