Age 83, of Wheelersburg, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. He was born on June 30, 1930 in Blue Creek, Ohio to Roby and Vina (Moore) Williams. He spent time serving his country in the U.S. Army and subsequently worked for the New Boston Coke Plant as a Boiler Operator for over 30 years, retiring in 1990. Harley was a member of the James Dickey American Legion Post #23 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taking long walks. He was a talented man, having designed and built two houses during his lifetime. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Harley is survived by his wife, Irene; four daughters, Brenda Sparks (Ed) of Wheelersburg, Tina Williams of Columbus, Alice McQuithy (Daniel) of Akron, Lana Williams of Akron; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Violet Williams, and one brother, Lee Roy Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Ronnie Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Military rites will be provided by James Dickey American Legion Post #23. Friends may call one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
