Age 80, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 31, 2012 in Pataskala, OH. She was born on June 30, 1931 in Portsmouth to Harry and Dorothy (Jenkins) Schwamberger. A 1949 graduate of Portsmouth East High, she married Gilbert "Gib" Bolton on December 23, 1952 in Sciotoville. Helen was very active in her community, serving 31 years as a Library Aide at Portsmouth East High School, 34 years as a 4H Advisor, and providing support and encouragement for members of the Scioto Trailriders. She was a choir member of the Sciotoville United Methodist Church from the age of 12 and was a faithful member of this church until she moved to Pickerington. Helen is survived by two daughters, Cathy (Phil) Bowen of Pickerington, Dianna Reed of Powell; five grandchildren, Heidi (Josh) Payne of Pickerington, Brett and Shane Bowen of Pickerington, Corey and Kylie Reed of Powell; two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Kendal Payne of Pickerington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert "Gib" Bolton; one sister, Mary Wessel; two brothers, Tom and Joe Schwamberger. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012 at Christ United Methodist Church in Sciotoville with Rev. Frank James and Rev. Richard North officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
