Age 96 of Sciotoville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Crystal Care Center in Portsmouth. She was born June 5, 1916 in Manchester, OH to John and Sarah (Wiles) Paul. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1934 and on March 30, 1940 she married James Roney. Helen worked at Williams Shoe Factory as a fancy stitcher during WWII. She volunteered for many years at SOMC, was a member of the Eastern Star, and attended Christ United Methodist Church in Sciotoville. She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, and traveling, spending many winters in Florida following her retirement.

Helen is survived by three daughters, Gail Schrage of Sciotoville, Sue (Charles) Stillwell of Slocum Station, Paula Berry of Thornville, OH; one son, James M. (Linda) Roney, Jr. of Sagamore Hills, OH; one sister, Caryl Jones of West Union; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1997; one brother, Wendell Paul; one granddaughter, Kelly Curtiss.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Caleb LaFond officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call on Friday 5 - 7 p.m. or one hour before the funeral on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hospice, Lymphoma Leukemia Society, or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are being handled by WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville.
