Helen Geneve "Jenny" White, 82 of Slocum, passed away, Friday, October 17, 2014 at her home. Jenny was born on July 21, 1932 in Wheelersburg, the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Simon Lantz. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. White, whom she married on September 9, 1951 in Wheelersburg and two sisters, Rosemary Batulanon and Kathryn Evans. Jenny had attended St. Mary's and Portsmouth East High Schools, graduating from East in 1950. She enjoyed her early morning walks and volunteering at Best Care Nursing & Rehab Center where she polished nails for the residents. She was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Traditional Roman Catholic Church in Wheelersburg and the James Irwin Post 622 American Legion Auxiliary.

Jenny is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Carl) Lindner of Portsmouth and Jeannie White of Wheelersburg; one sister, Georgena (Roy) Knight of Cincinnati; 7 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Most Holy Trinity Traditional Roman Catholic Church in Wheelersburg with Father James Galloway officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. The family will receive friends at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday where a rosary service will be held at 7:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the James Irwin Post 622 American Legion.
