Herman Jarrell, 70, of Portsmouth, died Sat. Aug. 7, 2010. He was born April 2, 1940 in Scioto County, a son of the late Ruban and Rachel Crabtree Jarrell. He was retired from the Portsmouth Water Works, was a member of the ODD Fellows Assoc. and the Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Russell Jarrell; a son, Dwayne Jarrell of Proctorville; two daughters, Angela French and husband Kevin of Portsmouth and Tracy Jarrell of Daytona Beach, FL.; 2 brothers, Don Jarrell of West Portsmouth and Charlie Mays of Lancaster; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Jarrell, Jay Jarrell and Noah French and 1 great-grandchild, Gavin Reeves. Services will be 1 PM Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with burial at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Monday 6 to 8 PM and Tuesday 12 to 1 PM at D.W.
