Age 71 of Portsmouth, passed away Thursday Sept. 24, 2015 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born December 20, 1943 in Columbus, a son of Alberta Hebling Hoffman and the late Paul Richard Hoffman. He was a former salesman with Columbus Auto Electric, was a self-employed business owner, and loved sales and building things.

James is also survived by two sons, Richard (Deborah) Hoffman of Lyons, OH and James Hoffman of Mt. Vernon, OH; two daughters, Kimberly (Thomas) Groshong and Cheryl (Eric) Driggs, all of Fredricktown, OH; a stepdaughter, Leah Huff of Dayton; one sister, Karen Boyle of Castle Rock, CO; a brother, Paul Hoffman of Rio Dell, CA; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Huff Hoffman and two brothers, Thomas and William Hoffman.
