Obituary

James H. Jenkins, 86, of Wheelersburg, died Wednesday July 9, 2014 at SOMC Medical Center. He was born on January 22, 1928 in Magoffin County, KY to the late Claude and Falkie (Russell) Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Jenkins of Michigan Center, MI; two infant children, son David Jenkins and daughter Judy Jenkins; one infant grandaughter, Sarah Jenkins; one brother, Hetzel Jenkins; and one sister, Hassie Hall. He was retired from Ironton Iron and was a Co-founder of the Dogwood Freewill Baptist Church in Wheelersburg.

He is survived by four children; Roger (Pam) Jenkins, Barbara (Charles) Williams, Rick Jenkins, and Debbie Brannon, all of Wheelersburg; nine grandchildren; Tracy (Jon) Scott, Tim (Carrie) Jenkins, Joshua Brannon, Brittany (James) Ruggles all of Wheelersburg, Lisa (Paul) Sheets of Lucasville, April Jenkins of Portsmouth, Christina (Sean) Killeen of CA, Matthew and Stephen Jenkins of Michigan Center, MI; nine great-grandchildren, Christopher Sheets, Tyler Jenkins, Kyle Jenkins, Michael Brannon, Caitlin Scott, Devon Jenkins, Ciaran Killeen, Sydney Ruggles, and Brooklyn Jenkins; former Betty Jenkins; and daughter-in-law Patty Jenkins.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Scioto Furnace Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.swickbussachamberlin.com.
