Age 37 of Portsmouth, passed away on January 2, 2014 in New Boston. He was born in Portsmouth on October 24, 1976 to Richard and Carol (Montgomery) Laack. He was a graduate of East High School and attended Shawnee University. Professionally, James worked in a lumberyard. He enjoyed hiking and loved to spend time in the woods.

He is survived by his mother, Carol Laack of Wheelersburg; special friends, Matt Humble of Wheelersburg and Alice Williams of Akron. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Laack of Portsmouth; grandparents, Carl and Kathryn June Laack of Wheelersburg.

Private services will be held for the family. Funeral services were made by his mother, Carol, and his friends, Matt and Alice. Private interment will take place in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.
