Age 46 of Wheelersburg, passed away in his home on Sunday, March 6, 2011. He was born June 6, 1964 in Portsmouth to Jim and Linda (Roof) Dowdy. He graduated from South Webster High School in 1982. Rick specialized in creating countertops and in his free time loved four-wheeling and dirt-bike riding. He was a member of the Moose, the Eagles, the American Legion Post 471, and was a former member of the Antioch Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Rick is survived by three daughters, Amber Canazan (Michael) of Columbus, Jamey Dowdy of Wheelersburg, and Mariah Dowdy of South Webster; two sisters, Sherry Hampton (Frank), Vanessa Mills (Roger); and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Rev. Kym James officiating.
