Janet Fay McClintic 67, of Portsmouth passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at Piketon Nursing Center.  She was born May 24, 1954 in Portsmouth to Earl and Melba (Forrest) Friend.  Fay was a 1973 Graduate of South Webster High School and worked as an Activity Aid at Greenbriar in Wheelersburg.  She loved to watch Gunsmoke and Bonanza.  Her favorite past time was spending time with her grandchildren who affectionately called her Nanny.  She also loved taking shopping trips.

Fay is survived by two sons, Jeremy McClintic and his wife Nikki Bishop of Waverly, Casey McClintic and wife Jessica of New Boston; a daughter, Brittany Shamhart and husband Brandon of South Webster; two sisters, Joy Dingess and husband Ron and Bonnie Canter and husband Randy both of Portsmouth; ten grandchildren, Amanda McClintic, Haylee McClintic, Austin McClintic, Aubry McClintic, Karis McClintic, Briar Shamhart, Brinlyn Shamhart, Jayden Kingery, Riley McClintic, and Jaxon McClintic; six great - grandchildren, Emily, Aniya, Jacob, Peyton, Jack and David; and a special life-long friend, Kathy "Kate" Leesburg of Wheelersburg.  Along with her parents Fay was preceded in death by two sisters, Rhonda Hayward and Patricia Riley.

A visitation will be held Friday June 25, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg and a funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Merritt Smith officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
