Age 54 of Portsmouth, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her home. She was born on August 18, 1959 in Portsmouth to Marvin and Betty Ruth (Martin) Selby. She attended East High School and subsequently earned her LPN nursing degree. She spent 30 years as a nurse, first at the Receiving Hospital and then for 10 years at Shawnee Mental Health Center. Janice was of the Baptist faith and more than anything enjoyed helping people.

She is survived by her husband, Kenny; two sons, Joshua Porter of Sciotoville; Jacob (Amanda) Porter of Sciotoville; one daughter, Emily (Byron) Tolbert of Columbus; one brother, Ed Selby of Pensacola, FL; one sister, Sharon (Lewis) White of Portsmouth; special friend, Debbie Dailey of South Webster. In addition to her parents, Marvin Selby and Betty Ruth Gleim, Janice was preceded in death by special friend, Rita Turner.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville. with Pastor Ralph Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call from 10 - 11 prior to the service. Memorials to the family are preferred in lieu of flowers.
