Jess L. "Jack" Hughes Age 85 of Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord May 15, 2010 at SOMC in Portsmouth. He was born January 24, 1925 in Portsmouth to Oscar and Florence (Mowery) Hughes. He worked for 32 years at Williams Shoe factory. He enjoyed working on cars and did a lot of work on friends' cars. Jack was very generous with his time and his talents with his friends and family. He is survived by his wife or 61 years, Rose Mary Hughes; daughter, Ruth Bloomfield of Flatwoods, KY; 1 granddaughter, Lori (David) Easter of West Portsmouth; 1 great-granddaughter, Emily Rose Easter, of West Portsmouth; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call 10 - 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville is handling the arrangements.
