Joann Russell, 79 of Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 12, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 3, 1935 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Paul Cooper and Delilah Cooke Holsinger. She was a retired sales clerk and member of Christ Sanctuary in Sciotoville.

Joann is survived by two daughters, Connie Morrow of Chesapeake, VA. and Melissa (Jeff) Keller of Portsmouth; four sisters, Phyllis (Dave) Vallance of Sciotoville, Lois (Ken) Jones of Wheelersburg, Vicki (Sam) Fannin of New Boston and Marlene (Jeff) Queen of South Webster; two brothers, Jerry (Ethel) Cooper of New Boston and Greg (Trisha) Holsinger of South Point; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a sister in-law, Shirley Van Deusen of Portsmouth and a special friend, Pat Bauereiss of Hamilton and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Darvin Russell and a brother, Larry Cooper.

Services will be 11:00 AM Friday May 15, 2015 at the Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Steve Phipps and Pastor Bob Morrow officiating.
