Joe Layton Graff, 89 of Haverhill, passed away at his home after a brief illness on Friday, February 26, 2016. He was born on July 29, 1926 in the Marting Hospital, Ironton, OH, the son of the late Harry and Carrie Molen Graff. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Graff Hughes and a brother Harry Graff. Joe had served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII from 1944 until 1947, had retired from the Ashland Oil Refinery after 41 years of service and was a lifetime member of the Haverhill United Methodist Church.
Joe is survived by his wife of 66 years, Wanda Stewart Graff; 9 children, Joanne (Don) Black, Wanda (Gene) Bond, Harry (Donna) Graff, Doris (Steve) Neal, Glenn (Kelly) Graff, Karen Haskins, Marcie (Larry) Pitts, Darrell (Lou) Graff and Robert (Lu) Graff; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and one brother Arval Graff.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Haverhill United Methodist Church, with Pastor Michael Musser officiating. Interment will follow in Haverhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Haverhill United Methodist Church and one hour prior to the services on Monday. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Haverhill United Methodist Church, at 43 Haverhill Ohio Furnace Road, Ironton, Ohio 45638 in Joe's name.
