Joe E. Morgan, 81, of Chillicothe, passed away Tuesday May 2, 2023 at his residence. He was born September 23, 1941 in Wheelersburg, a son of the late Charles and Zelma Morgan.

He was a former teacher at Rock Hill High School, ran his own electrical and plumbing business and was a Hotel Manager for Motel 6.

Joe is survived by his wife, Ruth (Emerling) Shantz-Morgan; a son, Mike (Sarah Dunn) Morgan; two daughters, Michelle Tedrow and Terri (Tony) Hawk; three brothers, Dale R. Morgan, James S. Morgan and William F. Morgan; two sisters, Virginia Hipwell and Kathy E. Morgan; grandchildren, Alisha (Nathan Miller) Flynn, Josh Hawk, Greg (Kayla)Tedrow, Emily Morgan, Brett  Tedrow, Dakota (Tori) Hawk and Alex Morgan; twelve great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Morgan, a son, Shawn Morgan, two brothers, Chuck Morgan and Keith Morgan.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday May 6, 2023 at Lilly Chapel Church of Christ with Jim Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Friday at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
