John Matthew Johnson, 66, of Portsmouth, passed away November 16, 2021 in Columbus. He was born January 25, 1955 in Portsmouth, a son of Dixie (Keaton) Brown and the late John Henry Johnson.

John was a former janitor with the Florida Public Schools. He loved to sell, trade, go to flee markets, sing and play his guitar.

Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Larry J. (Annette) Johnson of Kentucky and Billy Ray (Robin) Johnson of Bucyrus; four sisters, Carolyn Sue (Larry) Evans of South Webster, Donna Fay (Rocky) Fletcher of Sciotoville, Mary Jane Mullett and David Freeland of South Webster and Dixie Mae (Robert) Vulgamore of Lucasville. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Lee Johnson.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday November 19, 2021 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Pastor Robert Coffey officiating. Interment will follow at Owl Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 Noon to 1 PM Friday at the funeral home.
