Age 68 of Sciotoville, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016. He was born May 1, 1948 in Portsmouth to Frank and Ruby (Manier) Stiltner.
An East High class of 1966 graduate, he was a member of Riverview Missionary Baptist Church. Professionally he spent time building Mustangs in Detroit for the Ford Motor Company, served as a prison guard in Columbus, and worked for Liberty Savings in Wilmington, retiring as Senior Vice President in 1990. Known locally as "The Patriarch of Sciotoville", he was a big band booster at East High, drove the equipment bus for the band, worked the concession stands, and attended a lot of school games. John was known and loved by many.
He is survived by one son, Chad Stiltner of Sciotoville; two daughters, Jasmine Stiltner-Aldridge of Sciotoville, Terri (Jim) Webb of Sciotoville; three grandchildren, Brittany Burchett, Miranda Gilland, Jimmy Webb; four great-grandchildren, Aaron, Levi, Judah, Allie; three brothers, Benjamin Stiltner of Frankfort, KY, Floyd Stiltner of Wheelersburg, Richard Stiltner of Columbus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene; one sister, Frances; one brother, James.
Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Monday August 8, 2016 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville with Pastor Ralph Shaffer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 -7 p.m. before the service. Online condolences may be left at www.WolfeNelsonFuneralHome.com.
