Joseph Roy Doughty, 79, of New Boston passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Southern Ohio Medical Center Emergency Room.  He was born November 3, 1943 in Portsmouth to the late Joseph and Eileen (Mershon) Doughty.  Joe retired from the Village of New Boston.  He was an avid Ohio State fan and loved going racing with his grandson. In his younger years he loved to hunt, fish and swim in the Ohio River.  Joe loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his wife of 60 years, Delores (Nolan) Doughty; one son, Joseph Doughty Jr. and wife Diane of Wheelersburg; a daughter, Beth Madden and husband Dennis of Wheelersburg; three grandchildren, Derrick Dunaway, Kayla Dunaway, and Erica Hamilton; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Brian Holbrook officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.  Online condolences may be left at DWSwickFuneralHome.com.
