Juanita C. Shamhart, 84, of Portsmouth formerly of South Webster passed away Tuesday March 23, 2021. She was born April 16, 1936 in Scioto Furnace, a daughter of the late Harry and Edna (Conkey) Bauer.
Juanita worked for the former Williams Shoe Factory for over 18 years, the New Boston Eagles for 38 years, was a 1953 graduate of South Webster High School and she loved attending the Old Fashion Hillbilly Days.
Juanita is survived by a son, Bryan Keith Shamhart and wife Kim of South Webster; a daughter, Kawannah Worthington (John Bowling) of Portsmouth; grandchildren, Tracy Collins, Brandon Shamhart and Allyson Hood; step-grandchildren, Jackie Brown and Gabby Bowling; great-grandchildren, Ty Collins, Will Collins, Briar Shamhart, Brinlyn Shamhart and Emi Jo Hood; step great-grandchildren, Ian Brown, Lucas Brown and Gatlin Bowling. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Lloyd and Chester Bauer and a sister, Vivian Oppy. The family would like to give a special thanks to her SOMC Hospice Caregivers, Karen and Kim.
Funeral services will be 12 Noon Saturday March 27, 2021 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Pastor Merit Smith officiating. Private interment will be at South Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the funeral home. Donations may be made to SOMC Hospice 2201 25th St., Portsmouth, OH 45662.
