Obituary

Judy Ann McClintic, 72, of Wheelersburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life.

Born on November 24, 1953, in Montgomery, West Virginia, Judy was the beloved daughter of the late Paul and Nellie (Pauley) Stringer. She carried with her the values of hard work, devotion, and care for others that would define her life. Judy was a talented beautician by trade, but her true gift was making people feel cared for—whether in her chair or in her home. She had a deep love for cooking and took great pride in keeping a warm, welcoming house. Her home was more than a place, her pride and joy- it was a reflection of her heart, always spotless, always open, and always filled with love.

Nothing brought Judy more joy than her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she lovingly called her “Cheddars.” Time spent with them was her greatest treasure, and the memories they shared will forever be held close by those who knew her best.

She is survived by her devoted husband, John McClintic, whose life was intertwined with hers in love and partnership; her daughters, Kristie (Ed) Jones of Franklin Furnace and Courtney King of Nelsonville, Ohio, who carry forward her strength and compassion; her brother, Charles “Johnny” (Carolyn) Stringer; and her sister, Norma “Gay” (Tom) Spradlin, both of Wheelersburg.

Judy’s legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Herbie (Molly) Otworth, Bri (Zack) Otworth, Brooklyn (Kevin) Otworth, Madison King, and Maxton King; and her precious great-grandchildren, Everly, Lila, and Haisley. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim Bob, Gary “Slick,” and Russell “Speedo” Stringer; and her sisters, Tressie Thornton, Patricia Risner, Midge Risner, Sue Turner, and Carolyn Bussler.

Judy will be remembered for the quiet strength she carried, the pride she took in her home and family, and the unconditional love she gave without hesitation.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 09, 2026, 1:00 PM, D.W. Swick & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in South Webster, Tom Spradlin officiating, interment to follow at South Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 08, 2026, 5:00 - 7:00PM at the Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
