Laura (Fannin) Lykins, 94, of Portsmouth, passed away Saturday July 29, 2023. She was born July 24, 1929 in Lewis County, KY, a daughter of the late Guy Fannin and Ruth (Denlinger) Knight.
She was a graduate of Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts and Teaching Degrees. She taught at Portsmouth Elementry and was very active in her church.
Laura is survived by a son, Jon Lykins of Akron; two daughters, Elizabeth Lykins of Santa Cruz, CA and Vicky Ison of Portsmouth; a sister, Evelyn Fields, 3 grandchildren, Erika, Rachel and Caroline; 3 great-grandchildren, Skye, Bryce and Alessa, 2 great-great grandchildren, Hayzel, Carlo and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pastor William Lykins, a brother Chester Knight, sisters, Betty Burrows, Dody Fannin and Aleida Collins.
Private internment will be at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston.
