Age 93 of Sciotoville, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He was born on January 21, 1920 in Portsmouth to the late John F. And May (Reife) Warner. A graduate of Wheelersburg High School, he served in the U.S. Navy in WWII in the Pacific. Lloyd was the previous owner of several small businesses and was a retired U.S. Postal carrier. He was an avid bowler and a member of the Portsmouth Bowlers Hall of Fame, bowling into his 90's. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Portsmouth.
Lloyd is survived by one son, Dan (Bonnie) Warner of McDermott; one daughter, SueAnn (Max) Behrer of Wheelersburg; one step-daughter, Judy Hedges of Baton Rouge, LA; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and by his longtime faithful canine companions, Tess and Buddie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by stepmother Elbie Warner; first wife, Ann Newman; second wife, Martha Foster; brothers William Warner and Eugene Warner.
The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the doctors and staff at SOMC and SOMC Hospice for the care they provided our father.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Edgewood Abbey Mausoleum with Reverend John Gowdy officiating. There will be no visitation. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow in Memorial Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice.
