Lois "Maxine" Green, 80, of New Boston, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009, at SOMC Hospice. Maxine was born August 9, 1928, in Salyersville, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Joe Russell and Virginia Powers Russell. She was a member of the New Boston Church First Church of the Nazarene and was retired from Clark's. Surviving are 2 sons, Russell Pruitt and wife Carolyn, of Portsmouth; Ronald Pruitt and wife Connie, of Chillicothe; 1 daughter, Lois Kiser and husband Don, of Wilton, Iowa; 1 sister, Shirley VanDeusen, of Portsmouth; 6 grandchildren, David Pruitt, Lisa Pruitt, Saraswathi Pruitt, Stacy Kiser-Willie, Aaron Kiser, Courtney Kiser; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Marvin and Darvin Russell. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at the D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with her son, Russell Pruitt, officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 PM and 1 hour prior to the services at D.W.
