Obituary

Age 56 of New Boston passed away on July 26, 2012 at OSU Hospital in Columbus. She was born in Portsmouth on March 25, 1956 to Orville and Mary (Kinnison) Sparks. A Correction Officer by profession, Lola worked for the Lucasville Penitentiary and retired in 2002. She was a Minford High School graduate and attended the High Praises Church of God in New Boston. She loved exotic animals, gardening, going to flea marketing, and most especially spending time with her family. Lola is survived by her three sons, Scott Carpenter of Wheelersburg, Dustin Carpenter of New Boston, Britton Carpenter of New Boston; two grandchildren Alyssa Carpenter, Alex Holbrook; three brothers, Tony Sparks of Portsmouth, Wade (Lisa) Sparks of Columbus, John Sparks of Sciotoville; one sister, Diana (Scott) Culbertson of Sciotoville; fiance Rocky Ault of New Boston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dan Sparks and June Sparks. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville. Interment will follow at the convenience of the family.
