Louella Rickard, 81 of Hillsboro, formerly of Franklin Furnace, died Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Crestwood Ridge Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Hillsboro. Louella was born November 28, 1932 in Franklin Furnace, the daughter of the late Herbert and Martha Vanhorn Whitaker. She was a member of the Jeanette's Creek Christian Baptist Church in Franklin Furnace.

Louella is survived by two sons, Bruce Rickard of Seminole, FL and Robert (Sandra) Rickard of Rochester, NH; one daughter, Connie (George) Kincel of Hillsboro; 3 brothers, Jim, Elroy, and Fred Whitaker; 2 grandchildren, Jason (Renee) Kincel of Cincinnati and Jessica (Shawn) Smith of ME; and 5 great-grandchildren, Elisha, Isaac, Michael, Stephen, and Brady.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Larry Ison officiating. Interment will be at Junior Furnace Cemetery in Franklin Furnace. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday.
