Louis "Butch" Thomas McGue, 67, of Wheelersburg, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
Born on June 28, 1958, in Portsmouth, Ohio, Louis was the son of the late Louis Sr. McGue and Vada (Pitts) McGue. He carried with him a deep appreciation for life, family, and the simple joys that meant the most.
Louis was a man who truly knew how to live. Whether he was out on the open road riding his motorcycle, cheering at the races, or standing by the grill cooking for those he loved, he found happiness in every moment. His laughter, stories, and easygoing spirit made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. He especially treasured his retirement years, taking the time to enjoy life at his own pace.
Above all else, Louis’s heart belonged to his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Tammy, and a proud father to his daughter, Kerry (Steve) Figlestahler. His greatest joy in life was his grandson, Liam, who he adored beyond words. The time they spent together brought him immeasurable happiness and created memories that will be forever cherished.
He is also survived by his sister, Donna (Bob) Warren of Canal Winchester, along with extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his brother, Jack “Curley” McGue, and his sister, Tena Carter.
Louis will be remembered for his warm heart, his love of life, and the way he made those around him feel like family. Though he may be gone, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Funeral Service will be Monday, April 06, 2026, 1:00 PM at D.W. Swick & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in Sciotoville with Gerald Penix officiating; interment to follow at Old Wheelersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM, prior to the Service.
