Lowell "Bill" Estel McClintic, age 89, went home to be with the Lord July 11, 2013 at SOMC Hospice Center with family by his side. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Guy and Emma McClintic and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Esther who has lovingly and selflessly cared for him as his health failed. He is survived by his daughter, Patty (Tom) Johnson of Wheelersburg, and four grand children, Angela (Daniel) Howell, Shane (Kristie) Johnson, Amy (Barry) McGraw and Duane (Leslie) Johnson as well as eleven great-grand-children and one sister Virginia Bussey. Bill was a quiet, humble and hard working man whose life was his family. He bravely served his country in the army during WWII where he fought in the Normandy Invasion, as well as many other areas, and received numerous medals and accommodations. He owned and operated two service stations in New Boston for over 29 years. He attended the Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union for over 44 years, until his health failed. He enjoyed fishing and "piddling" with friends, but mostly, he loved spending time with his family. He was always patient and kind and willing to help anyone. He could fix just about anything and shared his wealth of knowledge with his daughter and her children whom he adored. He will be greatly missed by his family until they meet again in Heaven. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, at D W SWICK FUNEAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON, with Pastor Gary Heimbach officiating. He will be laid to rest at South Webster Cemetery with military grave side honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be Sunday July 14, 2013 from 6 pm to 8pm. at D W Swick Funeral Home in New Boston and one hour prior to service on Monday.
