Mackenzie Dawn Cornell, age 11, of South Webster passed away Sunday June 2, 2024 while saving her sister at a swimming pool. She was born November 19, 2012 in Portsmouth.

Mackenzie was a "Girly Girl" who loved shopping and going to Claire's Boutique. She enjoyed everything outside, always following her grandmother out to the garden and helping with anything going on outside. She was funny,  brilliant and enjoyed drawing. Most of all she loved her sister, her cats and dogs. She was the happiest when helping others.

Mackenzie is survived by her father, Chris Cornell and Diana Barnes; grandparents who raised her, Lawrence 'Ed"  and Bonnie Cornell of South Webster; a brother, Jacob Cornell; a sister, Mackenna Cornell; aunts and uncles, Chad and Jennifer Cornell, Chuck and Helen Cornell along with many cousins, friends and school mates.

The family would like to thank the South Webster schools and community for all the love and support that has been shown during this time.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday June 8, 2024 at Bloom Vernon Elementry School with Pastor Merit Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM Friday at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster and 11 AM to 1 PM Saturday prior to services at the school.
