Marjorie Lela Maynard (Wilburn), 81, of South Webster passed away peacefully in hospice care on Friday June 4, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones.
She graduated from South Webster High School in 1957 and shortly after married her high school sweetheart Donald Maynard. They were married for 40 wonderful years until his passing in December of 1997.
Marjorie was a devout Christian and member of the South Webster Baptist Church. She enjoyed her career as a Social Worker at Scioto County Jobs and Family Services. She was a caring and gentle soul who spent her life putting loved ones first and always had a smile on her face.
Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandkids and was always the life of the party.
Marjorie is survived by a loving family, son, Donnie (Donna) Maynard; daughters, Connie Maynard and Sandra Maynard; brothers Carl and Tom Wilburn; grandchildren, Jonathan (Debbie) Maynard, Andrew Maynard, Andrea Maynard, Kayla Warner and Trevor Gee; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Hunter, Colsen, Jaxon, Hadley and Maya as well as many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Maynard; father, John Wilburn, mother Silvia Wilburn; brothers, Don, Gene, Chester, Kenneth and Raymond Wilburn and a sister, Georgia Booth. Marjorie truly was one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Friday June 11, 2021 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday with Pastor Edward Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at South Webster Cemetery.
