John Mark Allard, age 64 of Wheelersburg, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, KY. He was born February 25, 1953 in Portsmouth to L.D. and Dorothy (Sly) Allard. Mark was a 1971 graduate of East High School and a graduate of Portsmouth Business College. He was the sports editor at the Scioto Voice newspaper for the last 17 years and was a member of Sciotoville Christian Church. Mark was a longtime little league baseball coach and basketball coach, and enjoyed photography, watching the Reds, Buckeyes, Bengals, and playing tennis. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.

Mark is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie (Haney) Allard; one son, Matthew Allard of Cincinnati; one daughter, Jessica (Brandon) Brown of Grove City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Allard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday for one hour before the service. Interment will follow in Memorial Burial Park.
