Obituary

Markeeta Joan Rawlins, 67, of South Webster passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.  She was born July 18, 1955 to the late Willard and America Muriel Tiny (Briggs) Bennett in Portsmouth.  Markeeta loved doing flower arrangements doing crafts, quilting and making afghans.  She loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Markeeta is survived by two sons, James Rawlins and wife Tracy of South Webster and Eric Rawlins and wife Jaime of Chesapeake; three daughters, Misty Imes and husband Jason Hinch of Portsmouth, Alicia Rawlins of Wisconsin, and Amber Rawlins of Ironton; Sister-in-law Brenda Leslie and husband Skip of South Shore, KY.; one sister Caroline Brown of Otway; fourteen grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rawlins Jr; a brother, Gary Bennett; sisters, Barb Riffe, Sandy Tackett, and Mary Lawson; grandson, Eric Rawlins Jr.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m.Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Pastor Gary Newman officiating.  Interment will follow at Scioto Furnace Cemetery.  Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at DWSwickFuneralHome.com.
