Martha Jane (Willis) Bussey, 82 of Wheelersburg, opened her eyes in the presence of her Savior on her birthday, Sunday, July 12, 2026. She was born on July 12, 1944, to Bernard and Lena Ann (Monroe) Willis, and married Teddy Lou Bussey on September 17, 1960. Born to this union were Deanna Lynn and Angela Sue.
Known by her friends as Marty, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved and served her Lord with all her heart, mind, soul, and strength, and she loved others well. She was committed to attending Rubyville Community Church alongside her beloved husband, and sang in the choir, as well as with Ted and Kandi Evans, even throughout her battle with cancer. She always had a song in her heart and a voice eager to sing her Lord’s praises.
She is survived by her husband, Teddy Lou Bussey; daughters, Deanna (Mark) Price and Angela (John) Adams; four grandchildren, Tyler (Colby) Brown, Lacey (Randy) Ratcliff, Caleb Brown, and Hannah (Jacob) Parson; four great-grandchildren, Breslyn, Noah, Audrey, and Mia; one sister, Katie Leightenheimer; and one brother, Chuck Willis.
She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Jack Willis, Carolyn Bates, Mona McManus, and Penny Felker.
Visitation will be at Rubyville Community Church on Thursday, July 16, from 3:00-6:00 PM. The Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 PM, with Pastor Cal Ray Evans officiating. Committal Service will be Friday, 10:00 AM, Mausoleum Chapel at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Services are under the direction of D.W. Swick & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in Wheelersburg.
The family would like to thank Dr. David O’Malley of The James Cancer Center and his staff for the compassion and care provided to Marty throughout her battle with cancer, as well as the staff at SOMC Hospice for the wonderful care they provided during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Marty’s memory to Rubyville Community Church or SOMC Hospice.
