Obituary

Age 94, of Sciotoville went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 26th at SOMC in Portsmouth. She was born January 3, 1917 in New Boston to Eddie and Ida (Kiser) James and graduated from Minford High School in 1936. On March 15, 1940 she married Herman Krueger in Russell, KY. Herman passed away in 2002. During WWII, Martha worked at the Shelby Shoe Factory in Portsmouth. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Wheelersburg and longtime member of Sciotodale Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to being a homemaker, seamstress, and quilter, she was a true outdoorswoman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and all outdoor activities. However, Martha's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her two grandaughters. She is survived by one son, Nelson Krueger (Jenny) of Sciotoville; two granddaughters, Jessica Krueger (Seth Cowgill) of Sciotodale and Jennifer Krueger Riggs (Tyler) of Sciotoville; special niece Ila (Tennison) Culp, husband Bruce, and great nephew Tim all of Owensboro, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; and three sisters, Eula Ratliff and Mildred Tennison, Irene Williams. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Aaron Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
