Obituary

Age 84 of Wheelersburg died August 10, 2010 at SOMC Hospice. He was born October 13, 1925 in Portsmouth to Walter and Martha (Kitchen) Sexton. He married Alma Bazler on August 14, 1945, and served in the United States Navy for 2 and a half years in the Pacific during World War II, and one year in the Atlantic during the Korean Conflict. Marvin worked 40 years for the Ohio Power Company and retired as area supervisor in Lawrence County. He was a member of the VFW and Valley United Methodist Church. He enjoyed working and especially spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Alma; two sons, Wayne Sexton (Larissa) of Fort Wayne, IN, Stephen Sexton (Rochelle) of Ironton, one daughter, Barbara Evans of South Webster; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2010 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Ben Gentile officiating with Chaplain Peter Michael assisting. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday.
