Age 74 of Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord on Christmas Day at SOMC Hospice. She was born October 21, 1937 in South Webster to Wince and Essie (Messer) Howard. On September 9, 1958 she was married to Charles K. Ogg, Jr. in San Antonio, TX. Mary was of the Pentecostal faith, enjoyed crocheting, and was an avid reader especially of mystery novels. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Terri) Ogg of Cincinnati, Billy (Pam) Ogg of Lucasville; two daughters, Shirley Truman of Portsmouth, Brenda (B.J.) Webb of South Point, OH; four sisters, Kathy Ellis of Ironton, Shirley Dempsey of New Boston, Wendy (Wayne) Parker of Loveland, OH, Tina LeMaster of Sciotoville; seven brothers, Jesse (Stacey) Howard of Wheelersburg, Eddie (Brenda) Sparks of Wheelersburg, Steve (Judy) Sparks of Lucasville, Tim (Amber) Sparks of Minford, Rick (Gail) Sparks, of Sciotoville, Scott (Kima) Sparks of West Portsmouth, Dana Sparks of New Boston; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers, Clifford Howard, Ralph Howard, Wince, Jr. "Jip" Howard, Thomas Howard, Herman "Bill" Howard; two sisters, Viola Willock` and Betty Arnold. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Wolfe - Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Paul Hamm officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
