Age 75 of Wheelersburg passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. She was born on March 17, 1942 in Hamilton, Ohio to Charles and Selma (Pyles) Roof. Called a "Mountain Woman" by her family, Mary Lou enjoyed cooking for her family and teaching them how to cook the family recipes. She enjoyed watching the local birds, game shows, and collecting shot glasses. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by son, John Henry of Wheelersburg; daughters, Nancy Henry and Cinda Henry-Lucero and son-in-law Alejandro Lucero, Jr, all of Wheelersburg, Donna (Robert) Wilds of Ironton; brother, James Richard Roof of Wheelersburg; sister, Anna Roof of Wheelersburg; grandchildren, Jonathan Henry, Ashley Lucero, and Lynn Boggs; great-grandchildren, Steven, Troy, Travis, and Keira Boggs; extended family, Alejandro (Eleanor) Lucero, Sr.; special friends, Larry and Jayne Carpenter . In addition to her husband, Charles F. Henry, she was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Jack and Kenneth "Sarge" Henry; daughter, Betty Williams; brothers, Harold, Charles, and George Roof; sister, Emma L. Roof.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2017 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville with Pastor Rick Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Wheelersburg.
