Age 85 of Portsmouth, formerly of Mundelein, IL, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 in Marysville, OH with his family at his side. He was born May 2, 1929 in Kenova, WV to Emory and Nancy (Sturgill) Plymale. Mason served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was involved in the American Legion Post 471, the VFW, and the Moose Lodge. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening, boating, camping, fishing, and most especially dancing with his wife, Nellie.

He is survived by a son, Michael Plymale (Sue) of McHenry, IL; a daughter, Tami Woodruff (Jeff) of Marysville; son-in-law, Anthony Felty of Wheelersburg; 5 grandchildren, Larissa Plymale, Lindsay Sarauer (Andy), Ryan Plymale (Ashley), Sara Eller, Zachary Felty; 3 great-grandchildren, Patrick, Samuel, and Benjamin; one sister, Nina Caulley of Grays Lake, IL; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie; a daughter, Lisa Felty; two brothers, Ronnie and Roy; one sister, Helen Fraley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Wolfe - Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Dan Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg with military rites provided by the James Dickey American Legion Post #23. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m., and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
