Merry Christmas Hoover, 78, of Portsmouth, died Tues. April 28, 2009. She was born Dec. 25, 1930 in Portsmouth a daughter of the Late Mark & Florence Frazier Hoover.She was a retired as cook at Shwanee Restaurant and was of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by two sons, David Hoover and Richard (JoAnn) Hoover of Divide Hill; one brother Ronald Hoover of Rubyville. Three grandchildren Eric, April and Nathan. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Clarence, Herbert and Richard Hoover. Three sisters Gladys Kimbler, Aurella Davis, Jacqulyn Ingles. Services will be 2:00 PM Fri. May 1, 2009 at D. W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Arza Rawlins officiating. Burial will be at Universal Cemetery.
