Michael H. Elrod, 49 of North Moreland died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010. He was born August 8, 1961 a son of Paul F. Elrod of North Moreland and the late Betty Elrod. He was a East High School graduate and a former guard at SOCF. Mike is also survived by one brother, Paul D. Elrod of North Moreland; two daughters, Melinda N. Elrod of New Boston, Shauna McClurg of Portsmouth; one son, Rusty Conley (Elrod) of Portsmouth; 4 grandchildren, Angelina Elrod, Morgan and Izack McClurg and Gavin Conley; 3 nieces, Kristen D. (Elrod) Kinnison, Stephanie (Elrod) Montgomery and Kaylee Elrod all of Portsmouth; one nephew, Levi Elrod of North Moreland; 4 great nieces and nephews and many many close friends whose lives are better for knowing him. Services will be 1 PM Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Gary Heimbach officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park.
