Age 91 of Portsmouth, passed away at Hillview on Thursday, November 28, 2013. She was born on April 8th, 1922 in Portsmouth, Ohio to William and Miriam (Zuefle) Hoffman. She attended Portsmouth High School and attended the First Presbyterian Church and McDermott Methodist Church. She moved to Melbourne, FL in 1955, where she lived until 2007. She was very active in her Garden Club as well as with her family. She loved to write short stories and poems, sew for her grandchildren, and travel to places that she had never been. She had a personality that could be described as bubbly.
Miriam is survived by one daughter, Teresa (Benjamin) Yergey of Port St. Lucie, FL; 3 grandchildren, Shawn, Heather, and Dawn; 3 great-grandchildren, LeAnna, Annie, and Zachary; one sister, Gertrude O'Brien; several nieces, nephews, and cousins especially Harriett Cassity and Donald Wolfe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Forrest Riley and her second husband Eddie Mullins; 4 sisters, June, Joyce, Gloria, and Sylvia; one brother, William, (Bill).
A memorial service will take place in Florida at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Florida. Online condolences may be left at
