Age 54 of South Webster, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus.  He was born April 22, 1961 in Portsmouth.  Morty joined the South Webster Fire Department and EMS Squad in 1980.  After 19 years of service he became an honorary member.  He retired from Shawnee State University after 19 years.  He loved hunting, fishing, and nature.

Morty is survived by the love of his life, Phyllis; his baby girl, Becky; son-in-law, Jon; and his grandson, Aiden who was his pride and joy; his mother, Linda Stiles; 3 brothers, Jim (LuAnn) Lockert, Mark (Kelly) Traylor, and Bobby Lockert; 2 sisters, Sharon (David) Seasor and Missy (Chuck) Swanner; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and "adopted" kids who loved him.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janet Stiles "Mom"; his father, Kenneth Lockert; brother, Tony Lockert; and many other cherished family and friends.

Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Ryan Hagen officiating.  Interment will follow at South Webster Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday 5 – 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Condolences to www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com.
