Oland "Joe" Gee, 69, of Portsmouth died Tues. May 10, 2011. He was born June 6, 1941 in Scioto Co. a son of the late George and Emo Gene Pennington Gee Burton. He was a former painter at U.S. Chemicals and member of Painters Local 555. He is survived by his wife, Juith Puckett Gee; a son, Joey Blanton and 2 stepsons, Chris Shepherd and Danny Shepherd all of Portsmouth; a stepdaughter, Delta Gambill; 2 sisters, Charlene (Jerry) Shaffer and Sandy Smith of Portsmouth; 3 step-sisters, Betty Strickland of McDermott, Ruth Strickland of Lucasville and Mary Pollock of Texas; 1 brother, Russell Rice of Portsmouth; 3 stepbrothers, William Burton of West Portsmouth, Jack Burton of McDermott and Kenneth Burton of Maryland; 2 grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jody Gee, a sister, Katie Kreh and stepfather, Roscoe Burton. Service will be 8 PM Sat. May 14, 2011 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Gary Newman officiating. Private burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be Saturday 5 to 8 PM at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
