Obituary

age 88 of Wheelersburg died Monday, May 11, 2009 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born July 21, 1920 in Keaton, KY to John and Esta (Rose) Thompson. She married Thomas Bailey who died in 2003. Opal was known throughout the county for her quilting, and was a member of Ohio Valley United Baptist Church in Wheelersburg. She is survived by one son, Sam Bailey (Joyce) of Franklin Furnace; one daughter Cynthia Cowall (David) of Nanticoke, MD; four grandchildren, Amanda Klusman, Jonathan Bailey, Seth Cowall, Nathan Cowall; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Bailey, Jonathan H. Bailey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Bailey; one brother Darrell Thompson; two sisters, Usla Fyffe and Polly Lyon; one grandson, Phillip Cowall. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 14th at the Ohio Valley United Baptist Church in Wheelersburg with Elder Larry Salyers officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call Wednesday, May 13th from 7-9 p.m. at the Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville and Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the church. Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
