Pamela Susan Ashley, 53 of Portsmouth, died on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at her home. She was born on February 18, 1963 in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late James and Clarice Baldridge Saul. Pam was a retired Nurses Aid at the Best Care Nursing and Rehab Center in Wheelersburg.
Pam is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Ashley, whom she married on August 11, 2003 in Greenup, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Swick- Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Pastor Aaron Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. The family will receive friends from 11 until the funeral hour on Friday. Kenneth Mason Walker, 86 of Wheelersburg, died August 20, 2015 at Best Care Nursing and Rehab Center in Wheelersburg from complications related to cancer. He was born September 18, 1928 in Portsmouth the son of the late Wilburn W. and Dora Frances Arthur Walker. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he was a graduate of Welch College in Nashville and also served as the chairman of its Board of Trustees for 12 years. He established and pastored several Free Will Baptist churches throughout his career, including churches in Washington, D.C., Tulsa, OK, Mobile, AL, Ashland, KY and Deerfield Beach, FL.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Emma Louise Walker, to whom he was married 68 years; one son, James Stanley(Shannon) Walker, Ph.D; two grandchildren, Dailey and Grace all of Nashville, TN and one brother Walter (Nan) Walker of Waynesville, OH.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Union Free Will Baptist Church in Wheelersburg with Pastor Chris Oiler, Reverends Dan Widdig and Randy Skaggs officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Welch College at 3606 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN, 37205.
