Paul Campbell, 85, of Portsmouth died Monday Oct. 3, 2011 at Hempstead Manor. He was born July 8, 1926 in Ironton, a son of the late Ross and Eva Robbins Campbell. He was a retired superviser at Norfolk and Southern Railroad for 36 years. Paul is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolly Messer Campbell whom he married in Richmond, IN in 1953; two daughters, Sandra Bates and husband Rick and Valerie Campbell all of Portsmouth ; 2 grandchildren, Julie Marshall and husband J.B. of Portsmouth and Jennifer Neal of Riverview, Fla. and 1 great-grandchild, Chase Marshall and a special nephew, Jack Campbell. He was preceded in deathy by a brother, Tilden Campbell and five sisters. Visitation will be Thursday 5 to 8 PM at D.W. Swick Funeral home in New Boston with private burial to follow on Friday.
