Paul Edward Hurst, 69 of Wheelersburg, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at his residence. Ed was born August 24, 1945 in Portsmouth, the son of the late Arthur Hurst and Millie Boggs Hurst, who survives. Ed was also preceded in death by one brother, Gary Hurst. He was a carpenter out of the Carpenters Local 125.

Ed is survived by 3 sons, Ryan (Kelly) Hurst of Trenton, OH, Paul E. Hurst, Jr., and Randall Hurst, both of Sharonville, OH; one daughter, Sami Jo (Doug) Ledingham of New Boston; 2 brothers, Tom (Carolyn) Hurst of Sciotoville and Leroy (Rita) Hurst of Wheelersburg; 4 sisters, Bonnie Clark and Vicky Bailey of Wheelersburg, Cheryl (Mike) Messer of Sciotoville, and Benita (Danny) Carver of Portsmouth; 6 grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Janice Hurst.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. The family will receive friend from 3 until 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to S.O.M.C.
