Pearl Marie Burton, 79 of Franklin Furnace, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. She was born August 7, 1935 in Letcher County, KY, the daughter of the late Ida and Levi Elswick. Pearl was one of nine children and is survived by one sister, Alma Evans of Dayton, OH. She graduated in 1955 in Seaman, OH and was a member of the Plymouth Heights Church of the Nazarene where she was a long time nursery teacher. Pearl was a proud homemaker who took great joy in keeping a neat house and cooking for her family and she especially enjoyed the time spent cooking with Heidi and Heather.

In June of 1955, She married Jim and began her life as a wife and mother. Pearl and Jim were the parents of three children, Vicki (Mike) Floyd, Danny (Robyn) Burton, and Randy (Joni) Burton.

Pearl was a loving wife who cared for Jim until his death after a long illness. She was a proud and loving mother and grandmother to eight grandchildren, Aimee` Cottrell, Lacy Hunt, Matthew Floyd, Josh Burton, Heidi Evans, Heather Burton, Alexandria Burton, and Brianna Burton; and three step-grandchildren, Shawn, Kris, and Jason. She delighted in her great-grandchildren, especially her four little girls, Autumn, Leslie, Katie and Maddie. She also has one step-great-great-grandson, Simon.

Pearl was very much loved and will be deeply missed by her family and special neighbors, Kay, Marie, Wendy, and long time friend, Ruth Ann.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.
