Phyllis Irene Hay, age 81 of Lucasville died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. She was born June 14, 1929 in Portsmouth to Charles and Nora (Mowery) Clark. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith, and was a former secretary of the Canaan Land Singers. Phyllis was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and served as Secretary of the 6th Armored Division. She loved reading the Bible and playing cards and games, especially with her family. She is survived by five children, Floyd G. (Vicki) Hay of Conyers, GA, Tim (Suzy) Hay of Russellville, AR, Patricia Morrissette of South Webster, Pamela (Anthony) Spriggs of Lucasville, Irene (Rex) Fitzgerald of Wheelersburg; one brother, Charles (Julia) Clark of Dayton; one sister, Donna (Bill) Fryman of Cynthiana, KY; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd in 1988, two sons, Bill and Andy Hay, and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Jason Coriell officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to SOMC Hospice or the Cancer Center.
